Pune hosted its 23rd edition of KISAN Exhibition from 14th-18th of December 2016 at Moshi grounds. KISAN gets visitors from all around the country and is the largest Agri Exhibition of India. KISAN brings out the best opportunity for startups and gives a chance to introduce new technologies to more than 200,000 visitors. This large number of visitors provides a perfect platform for companies to introduce to their new innovations.
KISAN exhibitors include various categories of the Agriculture Industry including Machinery, Seeds, Protected cultivation, tools & implements, Agro Chemicals, Micro & Drip Irrigation, Cold storage and many more, counting upto to almost 300 exhibitors. This one station is a complete package for agriculturists to innovate their Agriculture practices and increase their yield. The exhibition consists of 7-8 halls and each hall houses exhibitors of a particular category; say seeds or Agrochemicals Unlike previous editions, the footfall was much lesser this year. Also, it was noticed that the counter sales of exhibitors fell by upto 50%. The major reason behind this could be DEMONITISATION.
One of the major attractions in KISAN was the Software services providing many features like weather reports, Rates in Mandi, consultancy, Fertilisers, Pesticides etc through Mobile Apps free of cost - playing a key role in DIGITAL INDIA movement. Visitors were quite impressed with such innovations and therefore such companies hold a bright future.
